Meet my #1 Spectral Analyzer: Pure Analyzer Essential from Flux - YouTube

soil/biochar or soil/soil/biochar composites have many different possibilities for application in architectural construction. the mixture is most commonly made up of soil, biochar and aggregates. natural soil is known to have the ability to retain water which can be used to produce wet soil-biochar-aggregate composites. the addition of water to soil or soil-biochar mixtures can be problematic for those who are recycling waste streams since the process usually requires a lot of energy and resources. the addition of water to the end product can improve the flowability and improve the mechanical properties like strength and durability. this makes possible the application of this material as a foundation additive. low porosity soil materials has less ability to retain water and therefore do not require the addition of additional water to make it useful and/or the addition of biochar. thus it will not experience the same improvement in mechanical properties. however, by adding biochar to soil, as noted by figure 2 and the traditional soil/biochar/aggregate composites it is possible to have even better mechanical properties than if a conventional soil/biochar composite is used. historically, soil/biochar mixtures have been blended together to make the soil/biochar and biochar/aggregate mixtures. these soils/biochar and soil/biochar/aggregate composite constructions are however not well suited for construction applications like footings and foundations due to the settling of the soil-biochar-aggregate mixture. a possibility would be to add large sized particles to the soil/biochar mix to fill the voids in the soil/biochar mix. this will allow for small size particles to be used while retaining the stability of the material. however, the addition of larger particles will increase the installation time and costs for the foundation. if low porosity soil is used, there is a need to add large particles to the mixture to ensure that the material retains the same low porosity. the goal is to get a very low pore content in the soil that is incorporated into the soil/biochar mixture.
